Michael Catanzaro 836f6166c8 Revert "Stop crashing on idle"

This reverts commit ed906d372c.

Something is wrong with the buildroot, so this failed to build. A more
comprehensive fix is incoming that won't conflict with this patch, so
let's remove the patch now so I don't forget....
